Replaced LED Display, appears DOA. Troubleshooting help?

My Macbook pro 15" had a failing LED (A1226 display). Physically pressing the right side of the physical display would sometimes made it function, but usually the bottom 1/2 to 2/3 of the display would not be useable. It used to be that sticking a dew slips of paper in the right side bezel would make it work. Ordered a replacement LED display, installed, and ...nothing. It looks like power is there (right at the power-up chime, there is a very slight change of color of the LCD. A bright light behind the display (in the translucent Apple) shows there is not data on the screen. Screen brightness up/down does nothing. reconnected the old display, functions like before. Installed following good ESD practices.

Any ideas other than a DOA LED display?

Go over

all the connection points once more checking you didn't miss/switch any or pinch cables.

If you connect to an external display you can determine if the problem is your VGC.

Thanks for the reply. I put it all away overnight, next day tried both the old and new LED display. No changes. Cables have unique ends, unable to cross, and don't appear pinched, worn, torn. The Mac appears to recognize there is an internal and external display, so i presume the graphics HW is OK.

Appears first replacement LCD was DOA. Second new LCD worked fine, laptop is now fully operational. Thanks for the ideas.
