backlight is out but still works fine

Hi

My ipod touch gen2 screen went dark so I sent it off for service. It was sent back with a new LCD which did not solve the issue. I sent it back again and they said it was the logic board and not worth fixing.

What do you all think? I can still use it but the back light is out so I need to be under a light to read the screen. Otherwise it works fine. It has to be cheaper than a new one ipod.

there is a small black capacitor that has black epoxy on the upper left side of the charger port, that one need to be replaced.

but it's very small and very difficult to do it.

you may end up damage the logicboard.

I Suggest to use it as ipod only, not for any game anymore.
