no service, "wing" on the logic board is broken

Hey guys,

unfortunatly I broke the little golden "wing" (is it for grounding or increasing antenna signal?) near by the 'do not remove' sticker.

Please let me know whatfor it is and how can i fix it (no signal)

Thank u,

That'd be part of the antenna! Bottom of dock is one, silver bezel on display is also one joined to logic board by gold prong. You can scrape a little of the film from square on logic board where prong came off then solder prong on.

Glue the "wing" back to the board and make these two pathes:

"You should first glue the corner so it is tightly fixed to the motherboard, and afterwards restore the electrical continuity between the antenna contact pad and the track going to the small coax connector, as well as between the small grouding "spring" and the motherboard ground as in the picture below."

"You would need to solder two wires. The first from the antenna pad to the track as explained in full details above. And the second to connect the grounding contact (the one you can see all the way left in the first picture, which gets pressed against the metallic frame when the board is sitted in place) to the board's ground."

I too have broken the little golden wing off, but i still have very good signal strength.

I can't however charge my phone (but can connect to iTunes).

Is it likely that soldering the wing back on will enable my phone to charge again?
