On my samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014 screen is black

My Samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014 ran out so I put it on the charger but when I turned it on I could hear the sound that it makes when it turns on but my screen was black but glowing. I cant see anything my mum will kill me If she finds out so please help it hasn't got a crack in it and its never been dropped HELP
