Print on Epson WF 2540 printer won't turn on

I had an issue with clear printing and had to clean the printer heads. After cleaning, I had a loose ribbon that I refastened. That was resolved and I turned on the printer, prepared a document to print, and realized I forgot paper. When I placed paper in the back paper feed, the power on the computer shut off. I checked the cord at the socket and the computer and everything was intact. Next I changed sockets to another circuit in the house and the sockets had power. What next? Is there a fuse or anything I can check on the printer?
