Hi, I have a wierd one hear.
I have the iPhone 4s on a PAYG sim. Installed the sim and all seemed to be fine. But when I try to make a call there is no sound from the speaker and phone hangs up after a few seconds.
No when I receive a call I can hear the phone ringing but when I answer it I can not hear the caller and the caller can not hear me..
Any ideas??

It Can Cause Microphone & Speaker Disorder, Have You Tried To Reboot It ? Can You Listen To Other Sounds ? If You Can, It Can Be A Problem To The Person Whos Calling You Or Calling Them. Or Else, Consult A Technician. Its No Software Or Any Malwares, Its Hardware.

Ok thanks for that. I can here all sounds and when someone calls it does ring normally. I have done a factory reset as well. Had many people call me and its the same.
Don't hit your phone. Don't put anything other than an earphone in the jack. Definitely don't dissasemble the phone.
Press and hold both the home button and the power button until the phone resets with an apple. After about two minutes the phone will restart. You will need to do this two or three times. Each time your phone will react slightly differently. Don't be surprised after the first attempt if you loose both the mic and the speaker. Check the phone each time by having someone call you. THIS IS A SOFTWARE ISSUE.....NOT A HARDWARE ISSUE and the amatures on the web would have you believe. I admit rarely....rarely it may be hardware. 95% of the time this will fix the issue. This occurs on both I4's and I5's.

Nobody could hear me when I called from inside my house, but when I was somewhere else there was no problem. If you turn off Wi-Fi Calling then when you are inside your house your connection will go through the tower network and not your Wi-Fi, which may be weak when it comes to phone calls. Alex

That’s a ear speaker problem.so you have to replace it.

My husband had this problem.
After trying many things, we finally just updated the phone and it started working.
