What is causing blue 'aura' effect on iPhone display after replacement

After replacing an iPhone 6 display for a friend, it has been working great except for one thing: the display show's a blue 'aura' effect when applying pressure on certain parts of the display. It also appears that it is slightly lifted from the phone — as in I can hardly tell unless I look at it from a weird angle. I'm no repair professional, so I wanted an opinion on what might be causing this. My guess so far is that the display cables aren't in all the way, or the display itself just needs to be reseated and the clips to snap in all the way.

Thought I'd add, this also happens when tapping on the screen...

The blue pressure on the screen is causes by uneven LOCA Liquid Glue. If it is not spread out evenly this occurs.

Those are pressure marks just to be clear.

Check if there is anything under the screen between metal back frame of screen and loudspeaker / earpiece speaker.

Also check the back of the screen on the black part for any dust / dirt / glass).

Those are both magnetic with speaker filters and can gather dust or lint on.

Also if the frame is dented in a way that doesn't let the screen sit flush to the frame properly it can cause that too. In that case the metal housing frame needs to be bent back in place.

Another reason is the battery being bloated putting pressure under the screen but this is uncommon.

Other than that you can't really do much about it and most likely need to put another screen in result.

Thanks. I'll open it up today and check it out for dust and dirt. Is it possible that pieces of the old djisplay have broken off and not allowed the clips to snap in all the way?

I guess so but that is highly unlikely for it to occur.

Well, I took it into a repair shop that inspected the phone, then reseated the display cables and display. Since it's still having an issue, I think it's just a bad part.

I've seen this before. Cheap screen. Buy another from a different supplier.

Is there another possible issue. This was still expensive — $50-60. It seemed to be good... Here's the link:

That's just my experience. I replaced it with a screen from another supplier and it fixed the issue.

Okay. Do you know of anything else I could try before returning it? Could reseating display/cables help?

door

Reseating the cables wouldn't help, it's a screen pressure issue like I posted in my answer below.
