Why is the screen going black after using safari and flash games?

Hello everyone,

I took always really good care of macbook. This happens very often, each time for example there is a lot to be asked from the graphics. Like using browser with a browser game that uses flash, also when using Protools.

this is the latest error message I managed to get after cleaning partitions, reinstalling OSX and updating it to 10.11.6 . ITs something with GPU as that much I can understand, but what exactly? and what needs to be repaired? Thank You in advance guys, I know You get this kind of questions all the time :S

Hi Lukas

I'm having the same trouble with my laptop at the moment. Your first option should be to check out this page, and go and speak to Apple:

MacBook Pro Repair Extension Program for Video Issues

You have 4 years from date of purchase or until 31 December 2016, whichever provides you longer cover.

I have the MacBook Pro Retina Early 2013. When I took it to the Apple store, they ran the required tests on it, but somehow it managed to pass - inconvenient because obviously while I was there, it stayed on the whole time, didn't crach at all. Then, as soon as I got home, it started doing it again.

In the meantime, there is a really useful application which I find solves the problem mostly, so you can at least get your work done. Install is and when your laptop has booted up, choose "Integrated Only". For some reason you have to do it 2-3 times for it to stay on the Integrated option. You also have to do it before you load various programmes.

Good luck.

Hi Phil,

indeed my macbook falls apparantly under that programme, will need to go too the apple store.

However, for now I installed that software yesterday, run tests, all good exepct this morning I closed the macbook while it was on and now I got this:

- it didnt wanted to show the screen anymore so I rebooted it

- after that the fans started to ran at full speed like never before,

- the macbook seems to be missing the battery somehow ( after installing battery health 2 from apple store its says batter is not installed )

- perfectly working charger cannot charge the macbook so its almost out of juice

- no battery icon visible at the top of the screen and also not possible to put in on via the system preferences

- running el capitain 10.11.6 ( would that be the problem? that that graphic program you linked may not be working well with this osx? )

so now I have no idea what to do myself with this issue...

so for now I can work on it, but there is no chime on startup, the battery seems to not exist after reinstalling the osx. But it runs with and without the charger, the fans are blowing hard.

apart of that I can use it.

anyone any guess what can I do to make it better again?
