Water spill - no power no magsafe light - signs water damage

Okay, here's the backstory: working on my mother in-law's mid 2010 Macbook Pro 13".

She claims she spilled a glass of water on it (smelled more like wine to me). In any case got the computer a couple of days after the incident. Took it apart, visible signs of corrosion on the bottom of the logic board. Removed and soaked in isopropyl alcohol for a day. Brushed it lightly with a toothbrush, Reinstalled.

No love. No reaction from the power button. No light on magsafe adapter.

Ordered a new battery.

No love. Same. Nothing from power button or magsafe adapter.

What should I do next?

Want to figure out if it's the logic board or if it could be something else (keyboard? Power Button? All three?).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

FWIW - Hard drive is fine - pulled it and it has no problems.

What's the cheapest way back to a working computer?

Thanks,

Anthony

Update (08/13/2016)

Ok, replaced dc-in board - no luck.

Still no magsafe light or any indication the computer is powering up.

What's the next part to troubleshoot?

Any help, greatly appreciated!

No light from MagSafe suggests the board is dead, however you could try...

Use your original MagSafe board or the new one and short the connection on the logic board using the Power On Pads.

This will tell you whether your top case or logic board needs replacing.

The power on pads are usually located near the top case connector. Use a T8 screwdriver or other that is big enough to cover both the pads. Plug into power and have 1 fan connected. Wiggle the screwdriver over the pads and hopefully you get a spin from the fan.

What about an ultrasonic cleaning at a repair place? Ultrasonic can bring back almost any board.

@gigabit87898 "Ultrasonic can bring back almost any board." no it cannot. It can properly clean most boards but it does not do repairs. Any components that may have failed will continue to do so.

I meant that ultrasonic can bring back almost any board that has already been worked on. Like replaced components and everything looks good, but it still doesn't work.

@gigabit87898 I understand but that is not the way it works. You have a water damaged board, first you clean it then you fix it. you can not fix a board without first cleaning it. It might be a decent comment but not an answer for the question asked by the OP
