Red marking on logic board

Is it normal to have components colored/stained red, like with sharpie? I got a used nexus 7 2013 FHD and opened it to take a look and there is red residue on parts of the logic board. Is this some sort of indicator like for water damage or just that it passed inspection. The tablet works just fine. See the pictures for details.
