Can I seperate the iPhone 2g's Glass, Touch and Digitizer?

My iPhone 2G's glass is intact but its touch is broken on the top. I can use it but cannot see the time and battery on the top bar thanks to that. There are many parts available on EBay that sell only the Glass or Touch or the Digitizer! I cannot find a way to seperate the 3!!! I actually tried on 2 display assemblies but they break! is there a way to successfully do it?

I too tried and decided in the interest of sanity, time and energy just to bite the bullet and buy the all in one display. And how was are you supposed to stick the new glass on?? don't regret my decision for a minute.
