iMac restarts after sleep, is it the power board?

Hi.

When iMac goes sleep it wont wake up instead it will restart

I have booted in safe mode but still does the same thing .

I guess its hardware issue ?

Can anyone please advise me which part I should suspect, power board ?

I never liked to leave my computer go to sleep this always causes problems over the years and the cause is almost always the BIOS. Try change the CMOS battery for a new one. You know if the CMOS battery is death disconnecting the computer from the outlet and connect again and turn on if lose the date and hour the battery is death a need to be replaced. This can help with the sleep problem too. My recommendation is setup the monitor to turn off after 30 Min. without activity and turn off the sleep mode in the system... :)

Hi Dxgraph .

Thank for the advise .

I have replaced the battery, it didnt help .Whenever fails to wake up, restarts with pram reset so takes sometimes to recognize the hdd .

so suspect its cutting the connection with cmos battery at some point ,I guess something wrong on the RTC rail. I will look for schematic and measure around .

Thank you again for your help
