iPhone display dead spot after water damage

Hello, recently my iPhone 6 fell into a hot tub, and after a few days in rice, it has no damage except for an area of the touchscreen that is no longer functional, as shown in the picture. Any advice on how this could be fixed?

Further clarification, the lines come from me dragging my finger across the screen using the snapchat draw feature showing the area of the touchscreen that does not respond.

Can you post a better picture of the screen with it on?

Replace the screen. It sounds like a digitizer issue

Posted, sorry if the black screen implied that it did not function.

the connectors trap water that cannot be absorbed by rice. the trapped water is corroding the connector. there are 32 tiny connections. a few of them have already failed causing the dead spot. There is still a chance this can be fixed but time is of the essence. You need to have a repair shop do a water treatment program on the phone. this involves opening up the phone and using a special liquid to dislodge the water. you need special equipment to do this not unlike the equipment used to clean jewelry. you will then need to replace the screen assembly and connectors. hope this helps.

It has been like this for about a month, the problem area has not grown or shrunk since then, do you still recommend this?

Mine has NO WATER damage and is like this down the middle.

Unfortunately, looking at the pic you provided the screen is done. There is/was still water on the inside that the rice could not get at. This is what further damaged the iPhone.

Luckily you can replace the screen but, in my experience, you may experience other issues.

Thanks for the clarification. If the area's in red are not working you will need to replace the screen.

The area that is not working is the strip in the center-left of the screen where I cannot draw any lines.

Hello, my iPhone6 is exactly the same down the middle, has been since I got it in 2015, and there is no water damage.
