hi my iphone 4 suffered water damage, i put it in a bag of rice and dried with a hairdryer for a week and then tried to turn it on which it successfully did, with the pc cable attached, i left the iphone on charge but there’s only a battery sign with a red bar at the bottom and thats all that it will show, any ideas?

it can also be the battery. try that. its pretty easy to replace on an iP4.

Hi Eanna,
There are many things that could prevent an iPhone from charging after water damage sets in. If the phone only powers on while attached to the power cord, the charging port should be working, but the water may have have damaged the batteries ability to gain/hold charge. the dock connector is most likely fried. i would suggest changing that.
