Why do I lose complete battery power overnight

Why does my 100% charged iPad mini lose complete battery power overnight?

Update (06/05/2016)

My iPad mini being fully charged at night and not shut off and not in any app or program will have a discharged battery in the morning. My IPad is approximately 4 years old and I did not have this condition prior to now. Maybe just an exhausted battery.??

Not really sure what you are asking, is it at 100% and then at 49% in the morning? The iPad is still going to draw power from the battery because the iPad still looking for any notifications that it should make, or ready to immediately turn on right away when you get that text or someone FaceTime you.

How can you make sure an iPad is really asleep and not drawing power when turned off?

Hello Bob,

Might be software or hardware. First backup your device to a computer with iTunes. Then preform a DFU restore. Run it for a bit and see if its working as it should. Second, are you using and have you been using certified cables? Non MFI certified cables do not have an IC chip that cleans and regulates the voltage coming into your device. This can lead to the symptoms you are describing. Get a USB amp meter or take it to a local shop. If it draws the proper current then I think you have a damaged board on your battery that acts as your "Gas Gauge"

Good luck

Holger
