Replaced my Nexus 5 battery door and now my screen goes black

I replaced my Nexus 5 battery door/back cover because I upgraded to a Nexus 5X and wanted to get it ready to sell. I bought an OEM replacement on eBay and it matched the phone at both being D821 parts. Oddly though ever since I did that the screen started having issues with occasionally going off, glitching, or just going black even though the backlight is still on and the phone is still working (i.e. the notification light flashes, it vibrates, makes notification tones, etc.). Over time it got worse and the screen wouldn't come back on after hard rebooting. Literally every time I take the battery door off it has zero issues with the screen when I restart it. I find this extremely odd and I've closely inspected the battery door and nothing looks out of place as far as contacts or anything else that could cause some kind of "short" or something like that.

This is strange... The only thing I can think of is the new door is making to much pressure and is disconnecting the screen cable... I would say look at the two doors and MAKE sure they are EXACTLY the same including length of things on the door...

So funny you mention that. There's a little battery looking thing (I think magnet for wireless charging or mechanism for vibration) in the phone back. It came with a small black sticker on it that could be no thicker than a piece of paper. I removed the sticker and that helped for awhile and if I take the disc out completely it seems to help but then there's no haptic or vibration.

OK ya that little disc it the magnet for the vibrator (the wireless charging should be unaffected) try putting the disc back but inverting th polarity (as in make the North Pole face opposing to the way it was before) you may have to fiddle with it so... Also try flipping it over...

door

It can't be flipped because it's attached to a piece with two small spring contacts. Flipping it over would make those springs face the back of the case as opposed to the board where the contacts are.

I see...... Well the only thing I can think of it (if you want to risk it) you can try to take the same unit from the other door and st glue it to the new one...

door

P.S. There should be an orange ribbon cable over the battery is contains the video connections make sure that nothing is pulling on it and such, the connector for that cable is right below ware the disc things goes in...
