My ideatab glitches when it's plugged in and charging

i know this is a fairly old tablet, but whenever i plug it in and play with it for a couple minutes, it glitches out. the screen start flashing different colours really fast. it's very sickening. this only happens at 0%, though. while i'm playing on it, it will not charge. i'm not sure if it's my charger or my ideatab, though. is anyone else getting this, or is it just me? please help!
