Hi @ilana! If your battery is no longer holding a charge, it's likely that it needs to be replaced. While we lack a guide for replacing the battery, we do have this teardown, which has been helpful in the past, and this question which serves as useful reference.

I have changed the battery of my ipod but it's still dead. It only flashed apple logo. Can you help me?

Try putting into disk mode while it's charging. Hold power and home buttons until display goes white. You should be able to sync with iTunes at that point. If it still problematic try upgrading firmware.

The iPod software?

door

The software to sync and upgrade firmware is iTunes.

I know that. I mean the firmware. Is it the ipod software?

What if I can't connect to the iTunes? I mean the iTunes can't detect my iPod? Is there any other option?

Sounds like it has an hardware or software clash and you could try these tips:

- Try resetting the iPod

Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home

button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Next connect the iPod to the computer, if it shows in iTunes restore the iPod via iTunes

- Next see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will allow iTunes to see the iPod so it can be restored.

Before you do any of that verify that Windows detects the connection and mounts it as an additional drive on your computer. Without that the other stuff doesn't matter. Check Device Manager to see if there are any driver errors related to the USB Bus. You maay need to reinstall or uninstall or update the USB driver used for the iPod connection. Once the driver issue is resolved you should be able to see the iPod mount as another disk drive on your computer. You can then launch iTunes and proceed with sync and firmware tasks.

There is no trouble in the USB driver, but it's still can be read as additional hard drive

door

It can or cannot be seen as another drive? You're comment is not clear. If it cannot be seen then there is a driver problem.

door

The point is my ipod can't be connected into the itunes and there is no problem with the USB port.
