Auto brighness toggle is missing after updating the iOS

After updating my iphone from iOS 8 to iOS 9.1 the auto brightness toggle went missing. It is not appearing in Settings-> Display&Brightness or anywhere else in Settings. I have tried DFU Restore, Reset all settings, hard restart and still it is missing. I’ve updated to iOS 9.3 but still no result. With the slider for brightness I can change the brightness and it is working fine.

I remember having solved this on an iPhone 4S, the problem was not in the light sensor, was another piece that was giving short circuit on the plate.

Incredibly, it was solved by changing the flex charger, which has nothing to do, but he was giving a short circuit, which did not work to the brightness sensor.

Try disconnecting the flex power and flex charger and see if it works.

You need change this flex

This flex have a sensor brightness,

If you change this flex, but don't fix, is a problem in the board.

Try going to General > Accessibility > Magnifier. Auto-Brightness may be in there.

That’s the auto-brightness for the camera, not the display

Thanks, it did the job, adjusts the display brightness day and night

I have an iPhone 6s Plus with ios 11.1.2 . It is not found when I go to settings general accessibility display accommodations. Instead it says "Turning off auto-brightness may affect battery life" but there is no switch to turn on or off.

The ios has again changed the place so please find in Setting-General-Maginifier-Auto brightness.

Have you tried placing the phone into iTunes mode and then restoring the device through iTunes?

If this hasn't worked, all sources point to this being logic board failure and may need to be returned to Apple.

I have the same problem, also did all the above steps with no luck, i dont see why it would be the board as the front camera still works fine and the camera brightness adjusts accordingly when focusing a photo, at times my screen auto adjusts brightness, but not all the time. This all leads to software. Im looking for ways to get it fixed and will let you know if i have any luck. Mine also disappeared after update sinse ios9.

I found it under General > Accessibility > Display Accommodations.

It has a warning about battery life - which makes sense
