my iphone touches itself like crazy and one of my friends says i should get a touch pad and the other one says its a software issue what should i do i need help please

Was the screen replaced before or something? Cracked? If you can open the phone up, maybe check if the connector came loose.
If it needs a new screen, you'll have to replace the entire screen, not just the "touch pad."
