Why my phone not active?
after restoring my iphone 3gs is not active.when i insert sim card it show insert sim to active iphone

Either
A. You've got a locked iPhone from certain GSM carrier;
B. Inserted a micro/nano-SIM with an adapter and the contacts don't fit properly (though I hardly think that could happen, only if you made a ghetto-style adapter)
C. You have a broken SIM tray, which would be the worst case scenario.
Anyway, you can get around the activation by "hacktivating" with Redsn0w.
