Phone won't charge after replacing lightning connector & battery

I replaced my battery and lightning connector with ifixit parts.

  • The phone powered up after reassembly and the battery was at 70%
  • The battery guide said to calibrate the battery by letting it drop to 10% and then charge it uninterrupted to 100%.
  • When my battery dropped to 10% I tried to charge it, but the phone won't charge

I took apart the phone twice to check all the ribbon cable connections, performed a hard reset, but it still won't charge. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your question.

Sorry for your troubles.

When replacing connetors, buttons, or ports, (parts that are lower on the price margin than the more expensive components of devices) it's a good idea to buy two or maybe three of the parts to circumvent having to deal with defective parts.

This may be your situation. Defective lightning connector. It happens in the repair world four sure. Parts just go bad sometimes.

Seems like the short of it to me. That would be my next step if this was my repair.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

You're probably right. Now that you say that, I did have to remove the new one once because it didn't align properly. I probably messed it up. I'm gonna order some more. Thanks.
