My Lenovo G570 is showing a blank screen.

I replaced the Windows 7 install on my i3 G570 machine with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, and mere months after I left it under a few books for a bit until I used it again, and when I took it out to play some Ubuntu games, when I turned the power on I was presented with a blank screen, pure black, the power lights are on, I don't get a BSOD, just doesn't work, I tried booting it up with no ram, the 40 second battery static trick, and everything but I got nothin on the screen, any help?
