No external or built in screen

So I got given this MBP (A1226 2.2ghz (santa rosa)) by my boss, its been in a moist humid northestern basement for a year or two.

In spite of surface corrosion due to humidity it works all except the screen.

Have startup tone, keyboard backlight, numlock and caps lock lights, volume up and down sounds and keyboard backlight changes with ambient light.

These things lead me to believe that the MoBo is good; but I have no screen, I got a DVI-D to HDMI cable and connected it to my TV and nothing.

Should I replace the screen and/or cables? Or could it be the GPU?
