i just put a new battery and a new headphone jack in my ipod. now it won't sync up with itunes. everything else seems to be working fine. i can actually hear out of the right and left of my headphones... but why won't it sync?

First, is it recognized by your computer at all? And I know these things are obvious, but try a different USB port and a different cable. If those are both fine, try putting it into disk mode and restoring it-hold Menu+Center 'till you see the Apple logo, then hold Play/Pause+Center to put it into disk mode. You should get a screen that looks sort of grey, but similar to the normal sync screen. Plug it into iTunes, and restore!
If that doesn't work, you may have a logic board problem.
