Swollen battery after screen replacement

Had my screen replaced some months ago due to a crack in the glass. Battery is now swollen and phone will no longer charge or power on. I'm not sure if the battery deterioration started before or only after getting the screen replaced.

Wondering if it is likely the battery was damaged in the process of replacing the screen or if it's an unfortunate defect in the battery that was likely there from time of purchase?

Any input appreciated!

No, that is highly unlikely. The only way that would happen is if you somehow pierced the battery allowing leakage and causing it to expand. It may be from high temperatures from excessive use while charging or something like that.

Thanks. I don't think I really used it while charging and definitely didn't overcharge it. Never used any accessories other than what came in the box with it either so figured it was a fault with the battery from purchase. Now to convince the retailer of that...

Doesnot necessarily have to be pierced for the battery to be swollen. infact if your phone is More than 18 months old then most likey the battery gave up. Just change the battery and you will be fine.

Phone was only about 6months old when this started so I'm hoping to get it repaired/replaced by the retailer if it's a case that it was faulty when I bought it. Hard to prove I guess.

Its much more likely the charging system was damaged at the same time the drop occurred that cracked your screen.

Is there any way to check for that?

I actually had the exact same problem actually that's what probably cracked your screen because I noticed a blue discoloration dot on every white page I went to on my iPhone so what happened was the battery was pushing up on the display so I went into Apple they told me about the battery and swap my iPhone 6S out with a brand new iPhone 6S so yes you're theory is probably right it happened at the purchase and the guy who replaced the screen just failed to tell you about the battery

I had the same problem, changed the scream on my phone. Two weeks later battery swole up. I took my phone to Apple Store, they replaced my phone under warranty.

Can a swollen Battery cause the touch on the phone to become non-Functional.

I replaced my iPhone 6+ screen with a new one. However, the issue remains. I hard reset the phone it will work for a couple seconds then everything freezes up. Is that the battery or the Logic board.
