We would need to know what engine is in the vehicle, not just what what model it is.
If its a 350 engine, they're pretty much interchangeable for about 30 years.
There is a heat shield that snaps on over the top of the starter. This is important, don't break it and don't throw it away. It keeps heat from the exhaust off the starter. If it is missing the truck will not start when the engine is warmed up
