Charging port repair gone wrong!

Hi,

So today I took the initiative to learn how to solder and I started by working on my own Samsung s3. The charging port was faulty and would only charge if it was plugged in a certain way.

So I tore the phone apart and took the motherboard out, covered all the other components with kapton tape and heated the charging port at 450degrees with the smd rework and bang it came off. I thought everything was okay until I noticed I ripped off 2 pins off the motherboard while the rest stayed intact.

To complicate things I tried reattaching them back to the logic board and ended up soldering another one off! To make things worst these miniature pins fell on my carpet and have disappeared!

Cam someone please help me out and if I made any mistakes on any terminology please let me know. If you have any tips please contribute and share the knowledge.

I really hope it's fixable.

Not surprising if this is your first attempt. I see these boards with broken pads pretty much every day. It is repairable but you will need the diagrams of the logic board and to be able to build micro jumpers.

Next time try adding leaded solder to the pads before you remove the old solder and use some flux
