1. How did you "find out iphone underwater"? How did it get there in the first case?

2. Never use a hair dryer.. NEVER its the biggest error that people do when their devices go underwater.

3. Your logic board inside the iphone is fried (I am almost sure) so buy an iphone with a cracked display on ebay and swap the displays (ifixit doesn't sell iphone 3G logic boards)

Note: When you buy the iphone on ebay, make sure that only the display is broken and all the internals work.

Once you do manage to get a new logic board, this is the guide you will need to use to replace it.

Well, my friend drop her iphone into the toilet once. (yeah I know...(@o@ i) What she did to make it turn on again is this. After raise the phone, she put the phone into the rice container (Ewh...) Because rice can naturally abort water in the air. After a few day, her phone is back to normal. (Lucky... :)

Good luck with yours!

sure - this could work - but the rice only absorbs the humidity - it doesn't remove the conductive residue of the logicboard - it doesn't fix the blown up parts and rice is still food and way to expensive to get mishandled by a electronic device (the rice i eat costs 2-3$ per pound, the alcohol needed to clean an iphone costs less than 1$)

I do it but doesnt work, Im looking for aa new logic board because I opened the iphone and it have a lot of oxidation so I dont belive it will work as is

i've done it maynmany times - and the results were great. surely - some are simply dead, but i had an iphone that looked just awful - it worked again after a good clean and 2 fixed connetions that were burned from the electricity
