So my iPod fell in a 1/8 full cup of water water a few days ago, and the back-light and touch screen stopped working; and then I did the nail-polish remover-dabbing-in-the-ear-phone-jack treatment, and lo and behold, the back-light began to work, but the touch screen still won't work. So I can't unlock it, let alone play any songs. Help, anyone?

please, don't use nail polish remover on electronic devices!
use isopropyl alcohol (>90%) instead
disassemble the ipod touch, clean the logic board and all connectors with alcohol and a soft paintbrush. let it dry (without a hair dryer) and reassemble it again
sometimes the connectors are shorted, so it might be a good idea to use a magnifier to check the contacts

beast12, please do yourselfa big favor and post your question as a question. It is very difficult to identify a question when it is tagged on as an answer. OK now where we got this out of the way, what version touch do you have? What happened to it (dropped, water damage etc.) anything ? more info will help us to assist each other. Thanks and waiting for your response to see if we get it accomplished.

The same exact thing happened to my iPod Touch. Except, I spilled perfume on it. You should keep your iPod Touch AWAY from liquid. Anyways, my iPod Touch ended up working. But, I had to keep it in a plastic sandwich bag filled with rice for about a month or two. The screen looked awesome after! You couldn't even tell that I'd spilled my Britney Spears perfume all over it. Haha. Now, after that's done, you might notice that it says that you need to plug the USB in your computer and go to iTunes to access your iPod. Do exactly what it says. It may say 'Restore iPod', restore means to start your iPod over, in other words, erase all data on your iPod. The good thing is, is that you still have your music and apps that were purchased on your iTunes account. So after you restore your iPod you can re-download all your music, apps, tv shows, movies, etc. That's the cool thing about it. **YOU SHOULD ONLY RESTORE YOUR IPOD TOUCH IF IT IS IN TERRIBLE SHAPE!!!!**'

i dropped my ipod in the toilet last friday and i had left in rice for 48 hours and the screen wont budge it wont let me unlock it did i ruin it :(
