Screen touches itself rapidly and repeatedly

Hi. I have a Galaxy Tab 3 10.1. The digitizer was coming loose from the case so that the home button was recessed. I put a little Goop along the bottom edge (I mean a small amount applied with a toothpick) and held it together until it would hold the seal by itself. Ever since then, the screen acts like I am pushing it all over the place, rapidly. It opens up apps by itself so fast that the clicking-sound sounds like a machine gun. I pulled the digitizer away from the screen and out of the case, then removed the Goop with a little rubbing alcohol (with the alcohol on a rag, not directly on the screen). It still clicks itself rapidly. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.
