How should I dispose of old batteries?

I should have considered this before now but, I have a large number of batteries out of iPhones ranging from iPhone 3's to the iPhone 6 Plus. Its time to make room and I dont really want them stacked all around if they are not safe. Where should I dispose of them?

Any electronics recycler should take them, assuming you have access to one.

Thanks for your answer @ipadrepair but I dont have access to much in my area. I guess I will try to find another solution or start recycling myself.
