Is it possible to recover pictures from a smartphone that is broken?

So my Galaxy S5 decided to just not work anymore yesterday. My cell provider was unable to help fix the phone so their solution was to just send me a new phone. The problem I have is that I have very important photos on the phone that were not put on an SD card and were not backed up through the cloud. Is there a way to recover these photos?

It just stopped working. I can't charge it nor turn it on. When I took it in to my provider, they said the same thing and their only solution was to mail me a new phone. I've scoured the internet last night and found no explanations as to why it just quit. Occasionally I can press the volume down+power+home buttons to get it to do a hard restart but after it cycles through the start up messages it just shuts off again.

Have you tried to see if a new battery is making a difference?

The people at Verizon said they tried that. I'll try it again when my new phone arrives.

shawkins2424, if you phone does not turn on or does not connect to your computer, then there is no way to recover your files. May be we can help you resurrect your phone for as long as it takes to recover your files. Let us know what happened to it and what it does/does not do and what you have tried to fix it.
