Samsung washer no power at all suddently

Hi, could someone give me a hint? This is Samsung front washer, model WF203ANS/XAC, about 5 years old. Never had problem but after we loaded it and believed it had worked for a while (could turn it on, seeing the led lights). Then we found it is dead and no responding to any buttons. The door was locked with clothes and water inside!

I have opened it almost everything and managed to take it front face off and got the clothes out.

I have measured the Noise Filter (DC29-00013A). Its input side is 121V and output side is 121V. The wall plug is 121V. At the same time, there is no any responses, or led lights on at all.

I am not sure if the Filter is good and working? do I need to replace it?

I have checked the water pump (inlet and outlet) and see nothing except water.

What else I should check? How can I know if the PCB (the main control board) is working or dead? There is no sign of burning on it or anywhere.

Please help. Thank you in advance!

No it won't come on

My washing machine went off mid cycle I got clothes out and drain water now the control panel won’t light up

Did you ever get this issue fixed and what was the problem??

Has anyone been able to determine what is wrong and how to fix it? My front load WF42H5200W is doing the same thing. I've already shelled out $350 to a repair man and an electrician, but it still stops mid-cycle, or won't turn on, or gets stuck in the locked position. I've had it since 2017.

That voltage is correct coming out of the filter - no need to change that. It’s honestly pretty uncommon to see any burning on a faulty control. Here’s a basic suggestion anyhow: Do you hear a ‘click’ on the main control when you plug the unit in? There is a relay that basically holds that voltage ready and sends power to the display when you press the ‘power’ button. If that malfunctions - you will get no response when you press any button. If you don’t hear that holding relay ‘click’ - I would change the control. Especially if that board is receiving voltage from the filter. There is a always the possibility that the power button(display board) itself is not functioning - but much, much, less likely.

My control board had power in (120) but not signal to the inverter so a replace the board after connecting the new one the display came on, I started a new load and when I pressed start the pump went on for a few (normal) then all the lights went off again, again (120v) in and not signal to the inverter

Solution 1:

Incoming Power Problem

The electrical outlet may not be getting power. To determine if the outlet is getting power, try plugging something else into the outlet. If the outlet is not getting power, check the home circuit breakers or fuses.

Solution 2:

Power Cord

First ensure that power is getting to the electrical outlet. If the electrical outlet is receiving power, but the washer won’t start, the power cord might be defective. However, this is very rare. To determine if the power cord is defective, use a multimeter to test it for the cord for power. If the power cord is not getting power, replace it.

Solution 3:

Door Lock

The door lock secures the washer door shut during operation. Once the washer door is closed, the washer can begin operating. If the washer door is not latched shut, the switch will prevent the washer from operating. If the door lock is defective, the washer will not spin or start. The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically. Inspect the door lock for damage. If the door lock is damaged or does not latch properly, replace it. To determine if the door lock has failed electrically, consult your washer’s wiring diagram and use a multimeter to test each of the door lock switches for continuity.

My washer in the clinic had the same problem and it turned out to be as simple as the fuse on the power board. 150$ for a repairman changing the 1$ fuse and it worked.

I expounded on this problem and solution under a Samsung forum. Bottom line is DISH techs have replacement boards. They swap them out to fix problem. Or you can buy both boards yourself and return the good one for a refund and the bad board as an exchange.

Samsung recommends you call DISH, yeah the internet antenna people, for repair of Samsung washers and I assume dryers. I first called an appliance co., but the tech did not know what he was doing. He told me he thought a certain board was bad. Didn't hear from him for 2 weeks. Got the board myself, replaced it. Did not fix problem. Called Dish, gave them my model number and the problem, tech showed up with 2 boards, One of which fixed the problem. NOTE: Circuit boards have part numbers on them. Usually ending in an alphabet, normally A or the first iteration of tha circuit board. The board replaced on my unit had the letter F, meaning they had probably been a B, C, D and E board version before they finally have gotten the board problem fixed. Warranty problem?

PLEASE READ!!!!!!

have a top loading washer Samsung and it had lost power as well. The fix! I called tech that was a laugh it was exactly what the manual said. I tried to call a technician and come to find out they do not work on Samsung. Well here I go trying to find a fix myself. Fist off finding replacement boards are easy if you want to spend as much as you paid for it . I trouble shot it to the board, 120v coming in from the line I then tested it at the board and it also 120v I then measured it at the fuse front and back 120v. Still no action when I press the power button on the washer. I found a company on Ebay called eco-applianceparts. It is in grand Rapids Michigan. I found a replacement board for under 100$ and received it within 2 days. Put the new board in and thanked eco appliance parts up and down for saving my year. I highly recommend this company for do it yourself people like me who need to save money

Plug into the socket and Switch On the Power supply and Press the Power button of the machine and you will hear a click sound and then Press both the buttons (any two buttons) adjacent to the Power Button. The Display will start.

Board # DC92-01992F is the problem. It's one of two top front panel display boards. The other board part # ends with an A. The A indicates this was the first iteration of this board. The problem board's letter F indicates Samsung went through B,C,D,E, and finally F before they fixed the problem with this board. Should have been covered under warranty or a class action lawsuit.

Hi @valeriesalazar,

What is the model number of the washer?

Have you verified that the power outlet that the washer is connected to is working OK by plugging in another appliance to the same outlet e.g. hair dryer and check if that worked?

door

To check transformer is ok or not you need to open the side doors with help of technician and remove the part for cross check

Need your model number. Depending on the model it could be one of two DisplaY PCBs Located in the front of your unit. Call DISH. Their techs are the Samsung techs who find the problem. They have extra PCBs and will swap them out with your PCBs to locate the problem. OR.. if you are a DIY Guy. See where the nearestAppliance parts warehouse near you is located. If nearby, call first and if available take the model number of the two PCBs in the front of your washer and go to the Appliance Parts place and buy both boards. Replace one and see if it fixes the problem, if not replace the other one. Once you find which board fixed the problem, return the other board for a full refund. Cheaper that way, although you'll hav to drive to buy the PCBs. Dish is more expensive, but may take longer to get an appointment, but they have the replacement boards. Pete
