Backlight doesn't come on after a fall.
My 10yr old dropped my Mac and now the screen is not lighting up. When I put an external light to the screen I can see the operating system faintly and I can navigate - barely.
At the moment I have my laptop hooked up to a DVI cord to another monitor and it is working fine.
BUT....It would be lovely to have my laptop back to its normal state.
My guess is that the backlight has stopped working and maybe something has come dislodged on impact. So.....if this is the case, how easy or hard would it be for me to fix it? Can I fix it if I have upgraded the ram in the same laptop or is it more complex?
I await your answer in anticipation!

Before we can point you towards a guide on how to do the repairs, could you please use this link to find out what type of MacBook you have? When you know, come back and edit this question to include which specific type it is (we have guides available for 11 different types of MacBooks!). Then we can point you in the right direction. :)

What was the verdict? The exact same thing happened to my Macbook Pro, model 1226. Same thing. I am also wondering if this is something that is repairable.
Would you mind letting me know if you were able to fix it?
Thanks much. I'll stay tuned.
