I assume you are talking about the pas = electronic power steering , it has to go onto a Renault diagnostic unit ,Renault will charge you appx €1500/2000 for another unit ,but there are companies out there that are a lot cheaper !

google ECU TESTING or go onto youtube and check out faults with your model !
Solder used in the EEC has a high alloy content [ they dont like lead ] so the joints suffer from poor conductivity its a common problem !
