Can I replace 120GB logic board in a 160GB iPod Classic?
Well that's the basic question, the other sollution is changing the hard drive from the 160GB version to the 120Gb logic board.
I have this question since I have a broken iPod 160GB (connector partially fried, won't sync but will charge) and I can score a 120Gb version for cheap and want to build one working iPod out of the two.

Mine won't recognize any more than 127gb even though it is a 160gb hard drive. I'm not sure why because the model number is the same, MB562LL.

I believe the 120GB Logic boards are capped at 128GB.
