1 Why won't my camcorder charge?
When I plug my camcorder into the USB port of my computer it doesn't charge. Do I need to replace the battery?

Hello Jarretti,
Plugging the camera into a computer via USB and having a problem charging does not entirely mean it is caused by the battery. A battery only loses a percentage of life over time and if the camera is still functional, it will never lose 100 percent of the life.
In the manual, it mentions that the camera must be turned off in order to charge while being connected to a computer. Once the device is off, there should be a light indicator on the rear of the device turning on. If this didn't fix the issue, I left other causes of the problem below.
There might be debris inside the port of the camera which may cause a loss of connection when the USB is connected. The port on the camera can be easily cleaned with a brush. Be careful when cleaning any port on the camera because it can be damaged if you are too harsh. Make sure you do not insert any metal into the port.
Another cause for this problem could be that the micro USB port on the camera is dysfunctional. There might have been water leaking into the camera. If the port is clean and does still not charge, you can visit the guide where it takes you step by step to take the camera apart to check if the camera has gotten moisture inside and possibly be able to fix the issue.

same problem with my Samsung HMX-W300 camera. It won't charge when I plug it in the Computer port. i don't really know how to fix it. :(
My camera won't turn on. When I plug it in, it seems as though the camera will charge because the light turns green. I have a feeling one of the compartments was opened when it was wet. How do I know what needs to be fixed or replaced? Is it the battery, the motherboard or something else? Thank you.
