inserted a new film pack (with battery), but won't turn on.

I found this polaroid at a local thrift store, and although it had no film left in it, the camera still turned on whenever I lifted the flash. I ordered a new film pack and once I received it, I replaced the packages. But now my camera will not turn on.

I was just wondering if there are any suggestions towards this, even though it might just be a battery problem?
