How do I unlock a BIOS password on Dell Precision M65?

I need to unlock a BIOS password on Dell Precision M65 laptop. The model # on the bottom is PP04X, the Service Tag is JY7NLB1 and the Express Service Code 43427572381. It will not even let you go to BIOS without the password, states that the computer system #JY7NLB1-595B is locked and it will not allow access to anything without the password. I have been browsing and have seen some suggestions about a jumper that is used on some models to reset or remove this password but I have yet to find it. Can anyone help? Thank you for your time. Try this iq3ayyf6 as a password

Thank you for the info, oldturkey03, I will try that tomorrow and let you know what happens. I have partially disassembled it looking for the mysterious jumper pins so I have to reassemble it back to the point that I can power it up and try that. Thank you for your time, either way. Thank you again for the info, oldturkey03, I just tried it and it worked perfectly, first time. And I am glad I did not attempt to re-install XP, it has been upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate and it does not have a password even set for the Win 7 OS, so it is good to go! Excellent info! Try removing the battery, opening the bottom cover of the laptop, remove the coin battery from a black plastic pouch it is tucked into and unplug it from the board. Hit the power button a few times to clear any stored energy. Put cmos battery back in, put cover back on, put battery back in and power unit on. Hypothetically speaking the password should be cleared or reset to default of "iq3ayyf6" with out quotes. The only way this will not fix the issue is if the password is hard programmed to the bios chip or the default isn't iq3ayyf6.

Hi Wizard,

FOr resetting the bios password, first of all you have to dissemble the bios jumper and assemble it back again. now you need to power on your laptop it will start working fine.

Where is the jumper located? I have not been able to spot it yet and that is why I started to disassemble it, to look for it on the motherboard. But I do not even know which section it is in or how obviously it is marked. Saw it should be PSWD or something like that. If you could steer me to a certain area or even which side of the board it is on, that would be a great help. I did not see it under any removable panels or covers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. Have a Good One! Love, Peace and Perception

@life, I do not think so. Tere are no more jumpers on the motherboard. The password is actually stored on a special NVRAM chip along with some other information about the laptop (Service Tag, Owner Info, Asset Name, etc.)
