nexus 7 original wont turn on tried the reboots and they don't work...

I have the original Nexus 7. I left it charging in the bed stand overnight and in the morning it would not turn on. I've tried holding down the power button for a reboot for a minute, this did not work. I tried holding down the power button and the bottom of the volume right after plugging in the charger, this did not work. After doing more research on your past forums, I removed the back of the device, unplugged the battery and waited for a minute before plugging it back in and trying to power it on again, this did not work. I unplugged the battery again, got a multimeter to test the voltage of the battery and charger. With the battery unplugged and the charger plugged in, I tested the voltage on the battery side of the terminal and the Nexus pins side both were 3.67 volts dc. Any ideas on any other reboots, or is she just dead Jim? thanks I appreciate it just let me know if I should just recycle it? Even though i have bought a new tablet, I still just want to fix it....
