There is a simple physical solution to this problem which is this

Just use the headphones with any software mine is 6. 61

And it will take two days for the software to pick up new updates for

The headphones .then the headphones will work fine automatically

this sounds like a software issue to me - so resetting it to the factory settings should help. but think abut it - resetting could delete everything on it

You need to wait for a new [System Software Update] and then install it to refresh your PSP's drivers or go into the Bluetooth settings and make sure it's not registered with a Bluetooth headset. If it is disable it.

Hi,

First things first ;-

Clean out the headphone port with a cotten bud. Make sure the device is free from lint etc.

Test headphone is working.

Leave headphone plugged and attach to power supply via dock.

Check headphone.

If the headphone kicks in from either of these 2 tests it will be a blown fuse.

I am trying to source a replacement fuse but i cannot seem to find a suitable fuse so i have "bridged it" with some kynar wire.

Source: Loss of audio Output From Units speakers..

Hope this helps you out. In my experiance with all variations of the PSP it is rarely the softwares fault. The software may error but it will error due to a hardware issue.

---FIXED! --- I had this exact same problem and had just been using a bluetooth speaker(for months) since I didn't want to try to replace some tiny fuse on the motherboard like some of the forums suggested. Last night I left my psp open and on(which I never do) and the battery died completely. When I plugged in the charger an turned it back on, the speakers were working again. So, try letting your battery die completely, this maybe resets something and brings the speakers back. Worked for mine and it hasn't had sound(apart from bluetooth) for about a year.
