Replacing a screen with a screen from another 4S?

I have a shattered 4S, unlocked on Verizon. I have another, shiny and awesome looking, locked (and not unlockable, trust me, I've tried) to Sprint, 4S with a balky wifi chip, so essentially without value except for parts.

I have looked at the 41 step (!!!) screen replacement guide for the 4S and I am not interested if I don't have to. I figure the odds of getting it right are so slim, they are zero, for me.

So is my best option just buying a new screen assembly instead of bothering to make use of the Sprint 4S? That's only a $20 part. So going through the 41 steps to REMOVE the screen from the Sprint phone to save $20 seems nuts. I can have a local shop do it for $70 including parts.

Just thinking out loud here... thoughts? Thanks!
