Somewhat bricked, wont turn on. tried factory reset. any tips?

So my phone was working fine this morning i charged it over night and used as an alarm clock this morning; i noticed it only had half a charge which i thought was weird but i didn't think much of it at that point. i also charged it on my way to class and i don't think it charged. about half way through the day it died due to terrible battery life. i get hope and attempt to charge it. for the first hour it would vibrate every 5 seconds (i counted it out) but wouldnt turn on. after an hour it stopped vibrating and still wouldnt turn on (NOTE: for a second or 2 i could see the logo sometimes). about an hour later it was completely unresponsive to anything i did (NOTE: i doubt its a battery issue if because i took out the battery and plugged in the phone and tried to turn it on which usually will elicit a response). i have tried 4 different chargers with no effect (NOTE: all chargers are functioning). currently my computer isn't recognizing it as connected so i can't do anything that way. Technically this is a hard brick but i do believe its reversible. i have taken it into the store and they were unable to do tests in shop and told me to try best buy (NOTE: i can't stand best buy). i have already tried a factory reset and all the basic things i could think of. if anyone has any ideas on this please let me know.

-No water damage

-No fall damage

-No known virus

-No issues up till this point

I also am experiencing the exact same thing on my note2, I went into isell and they used a JTAG memory stick which goes in your phone and basically it continues on with the bootloop.now he said my phone was dead and they cannot do anything to it. Maybe that's the solution. Hope i helped

How to unbrick a Android phone? You need the tool which named Android Data Recovery.

This Android data recovery software enables you to recover deleted and lost contacts, messages, photos, video, audio, WhatsApp history, call history and various documents. Most of them can be previewed before recovery and you can recover the items selectively according to your need. What's more, this tool can also fix a bricked Android devices with a click.

It probably needs a new power button. Power buttons for the s3 were failing all the time and now its the s4 turn because they used the same button. I have to fix about one or two s4 power buttons a week now. Boot looping, or vibrating right when you put the battery in usually indicates thr power button.

Unfortunately it is soldered to the motherboard but it isn't a difficult job.

The video went private. Could you elaborate on what the video was? I think I have a similar issue, and I was told it was the motherboard (logic board).

Thats unfortunate :/ Well the video was of a guy reballing his Power IC chip and replacing it on the S4. After which the phone works fine again. I did an extensive amount of searches trying to figure this out for my own phone and found the power IC to be at fault for the ones that will not charge and have no water/drop/heat etc. damage. Now reballing a chip isn't what i'd call easy or even moderately so but the guy in that video made it look so. I wonder myself if there is somewhere you can send this to be done. i Know you can buy the chips online if you look up the Power IC for your specific model. After that its a matter of sending it off to a pro (maybe someone here?) Or taking a shot at doing it yourself if all is lost anyway...but you might end up like me and ruin things...should've practiced more first. Oh well... Best of luck though!

That's what I was thinking, maybe the chip that manages the power is not working properly, there's a video here that' shows how to Disassemble the SG4,

I have a similar issue, I did't notice anything wrong with the charging, my phone was working fine and then it powered off by it self, after a while it turns on (sometimes by it self) but only works for like 10 mints then it powers off again. I tried with a different battery but that didn't make any difference. I don't think this is software related either and I'm not sure if the issue resides in the MLB because it works for short periods of time.

This is almost my exact problem. When my phone works, it will turn off randomly. When it's off, my power button will not work to turn it on. However, when I take the battery out and then put the battery back in, it will attempt to power up. The first load screen will appear showing the "Samsung Galaxy S4" text and then go black and nothing more will appear.

I took my phone to a shop and I paid them $30 to run diagnostic tests on it and they said a new charge port did nothing and then ran more tests, then told me that it needed a new logic board. They wanted 120 for it to be fixed, but I would rather do the work myself. It doesn't seem easy finding a new motherboard for these phones.

Hopefully somebody can chime in and attempt to help trouble shoot. I read something about a Power IC part? I don't really know what this part does or if it relates.

I don't think is necessary to replace the MLB, if you take a look at the GS4 tear down Samsung Galaxy S4 Teardown

You'll see that on step13 there's a Qualcomm PM8917 power management chip, I'm wondering if it's that. Maybe replacing the MLB will be easier after all but I would like to find another alternative.

I think I'm right, take a look at this post http://blog.brokenlcds.com/samsung-galax...

I agree. I really think that could be the part I need, and they aren't that expensive online. I was really hoping the shop I took it to would have told me specifically what was wrong with it other than a general motherboard problem. Is there any tutorials that show you how to replace the chip on the MB? I saw a couple YouTube videos, but they didn't have much detail.

How does the inside of your charge port look?

If your phone were bricked or experiencing SDS it would show up on the computer as some sort of strange qualcomm device vs an s3.

If it doesn't show up at all and won't charge that makes me think there's physical damage to your charge port.

I also have a huge problem with my note4 n910c.

Last night i was using the phone but battery was only 10% left. I switched it to u.power saving mode, but today when i woke up and plugged in the charger. While ultra power saving mode was disabling, my battery was only 1% so my phone turned of but after it my phone is showing no response not even charging. I asked some shop keepers and they said that there is a problem of software which means its bricked And they can fix it but my warranty will be voided. So then i went to another shop and that shop keeper plugged in the charger for 10 minutes and my phone was heating up, he said they phone is not powering up because of short circuit. I asked myself that how the !&&* is this possible. Still i have warranty and accidental coverage so i think i should talk with them about my problem, what do u think guys? Can someone please tell that what could be the problem with my phone.
