i does a lot of screen replacement testing, is there a battery test flex i can order similar to LCD test flex? also is it essential that i need to disconnected the battery for testing a new screen?

I always test things with the motherboard that comes with the phone ;P
All you need to test the screen is.. The screen + motherboard + dock and plug in electricity.
Or, if you want to test both the screen+battery connect the battery as well. Once you insert charging cable into the dock and the phone stats up, just pull out the cable. If the phone keeps running, it's using the battery. If it shuts off, battery isn't charged/working/plugged in.

are you saying i can test the screen without battery? the amount of time i've to reconnect the battery worries me because the connector solder joints might come off.
