Iphone 5s was submerged in salt water. It was removed from salt water and rinsed/submerged in fresh water to hopefully get rid of salt. It then placed in container of rice for several days. Will not power back up or indicate charging when plugged in. Any suggestions?

take the board out following the ifixit teardown, once the board is out clean it using alcohol solution(not vodka) then hope leave to dry, put the board in and hopefully it will work, but if anything is corroded or damage, it may need more work

Think u just put the nail in the coffin when you tryed cleaning it with water lol
Rice is the worst thing you can do I'm afraid phone needs cleaned out with alcohol and dryed..
When water drys it causes corrosion drying a iPhone out in the worst thing you can do

Need new battery for starters. To check if it is still alive, disconnect battery, then connect to lightning power to see if screen responds.
