Screen replaced no longer works with Smart Cover

Hello Everyone,

I had a 3rd party repairman replace the cracked glass on my iPad Mini Retina. Looked great after he finished until I got home and was playing around with it and noticed the screen didn't go to sleep when closing the cover.

I did a little research and it appears that there may be some replacement parts which lack the ability to support this functionality after replacement.

Is there a reputable manufacturer for replacement parts that would keep this functionality? How do I check if a repair person is using the best parts available?

I intend on asking for a refund because this in my opinion is not repaired as the functionality is now lost.

Hello Snacktime, there are two(I believe it's two) magnets which are very easy to forget when changing the digitizer on an Ipad Mini. I do believe it's the magnets which interact with the Smart Cover.

It could be they simply forgot to place the magnets back. You could always call them and ask if they still have them laying around. I've forgotten them a few times and simply stored them in my scrap box in case it caused problems later. (I have no idea what these magnets functionality is for, however it makes sense that they would interact with some kind of cover.)
