Remedy:

Run your updated anti virus and make sure you include startup scan

If malware found, then, after deletion, remove all your system restore points, because malware can pop up again here. Make sure you put a new clean restore point.

Remove all cookies from your browsers

Delete any browser helper and bars. They are just polite spyware.

Export your favorites bookmarks from your browser to a safe location and delete them from the browser.

Stop any browser addons that you do not need

With windows disc cleaner, delete old compressed files

Remove any unwanted programs

Do a defragmentation

Remove windows temporary files

Hi @franek

Check in Task manager > Startup to see what is starting when you first turn on your laptop and that are running in the background. The less programs, except for the ones you that you really need , the better. Also check for non Windows processes that you don't need.

If in doubt, just disable them do not delete them. Also if you're not sure what they are, "Google' them to find out what they do.

If you have installed a 3rd party Anti Virus program (A/V) ensure that you have turned off Windows Defender. You don't need them competing and using up resources.

This may also be of interest to you.

Yeah, thanks, forgot to check on Autostart. Some useless things. I'll see how it will go. Probably true with the "not more than nine tabs", but can't help myself, haha. I should use the bookmarks possibilities, for sure :)

windows 10 take huge memory, i found a regedit to switch off cortana ,which used 35 per cent of memory without using it, memory hungry from learning !

switch everything to performance, adjust everything that impacts start up that is not needed

What version of Windows are you running? Sounds like you may have a lot of programs running in the background. Try turning off some of your background programs by clicking start and typing msconfig in the search bar in the start menu and then press enter. Then click on the startup tab and disable all the programs that don't need to be running. You may need to restart your computer. It should help your computer start up quicker.

Also you may want to up your virtual memory as well. To do that click start, right click computer, click properties, click advanced system settings, under performance click settings, click the advanced tab, and click change for virtual memory, uncheck "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives", and then click custom. Enter a custom paging file size that is larger then what your computer is currently set to. This should also help your computer to run faster as virtual memory is like adding ram to your computer except it uses your hard drive as ram.

i understand the issue and i see many more people had the same issue you can try these thing will help you for sure -

if your hard drive is almost completely full, your computer may run noticeably slower. You want to leave your computer some room to work on your hard drive. Follow our guide to freeing up space on your Windows PC to free up room. You donā€™t need any third-party software ā€” just running the Disk Cleanup tool included in Windows can help quite a bit . i use this link and got my system fixed by acer help and blog click - acer slow computer fix in simple steps and also please uninstall

Uninstall unused/irrelevant programs

This leads to a reduced speed. It is good to uninstall such programs and let your computer breathe freely.

cut down some start up programs too they make you computer boot slow

Try and close all unnecessary applications. If still running slowly consider purchasing additional RAM. After purchase of new RAM look at this guide for old RAM removal and new RAM installation.

Its been a while but hope that my response would be beneficial for others who may face the same issue as the author. If all of the above software and malware removal and cleaning wont work then you may want to check the integrity of your hard drive, delays and bad blocks can cause your system to boot up slowly. download speedfan http://www.almico.com/speedfan.phpand install the software to check on your system temperature and SMART attribute of your drive, its very simple and easy to use, for details you can check :http://www.almico.com/sfscreenshots.php for details.

well, my laptop (Acer ES 11), bought two days ago, has 8GB RAM, I run Windows 10, and when I open about 10 tabs in Opera, everything becomes jumpy. I mean, I get that the answer is not to open so much tabs but still. what's the use of the computer if it doesn't allow me to do it? and still, I thought 8GB RAM is a lot. I don't play games nor any stuff like that. I deleted the stuff acer put at the beginning (their whole software which I found useless). is there any way to optimize funcionality of this computer?

I have quite an old acer aspire computer that was creaking under the amount of resources that windows uses. I have tried running Ubuntu in the past and really liked it but found it hard to install programs, then I discovered Cublinux.

Wow, is all I can say. It is lightning fast, clean and slick. It is also free. Give it a try, I think you will love it, just google "Cublinux"

There's a possibility that there's a disk drive issue, check to see how much is being used. If it is around 100%, get it fixed. Here's a guide on how to do that.
