iTunes does not recognize iPhone, I've never had a problem like this before. The phone works fine other than that.
I have tried several different ports on several computers.
Software for Iphone & computer have been updated.

I guess you have disabled the auto sync option in iTunes. Try that.

I tried that but still unable to connect, iPhoto will not recognize it either.
I've tried several different cables & the phone battery will charge when connected to a usb port from any computer

I cleaned the port connector with a small brush and now it is fixed
