My Playststion 2 opens to a screen that says 'Browser/ system configuration' screen on some of my games. It will not load game when this screen pops up. It also says to use a Playstation or Playstation format game. What does this mean??

Are you trying to play copied games ?
if not - it's possible that the laser has problems to read the games.
most people are saying thet the laser is defective and needs to be replaced.
but i had a few ps2's with laser problems and all of them were only dirty - the dust is "burnt" on the laser. i've cleaned them with a slightly wet microfibre cloth and that was it - the are all running without any problem

Then it shows READING DISC, DISC CANNOT BE READ
I'll retry doing that.. But isn't a microfiber cloth gonna get all of its fiber sticker to it like dust as well? Thanks

I used to play a 4 disk game on my ps2 with no problem and had saved 6 files on my memory card. I lost the game and bought a new set of it, but it won't let me save or load. The message says memory card not inserted. I tried it with my tekken 5 game and it works just fine. What do I do?
Please it is a new one a man in my area told me that my pile needs configuration please is that true

Try to buy a new MEMORY CARD. Some ps2's are starting the console from memory cards. Your system configuration in memory card might be corrupted or deleted.

pls I use to play my ps2 with memory card and I travel and come back I try to play my ps2 again but is not reading my memory card it only shows me browser/configuration settings pls someone should help me pls
Put in a memory card and everything worked perfectly.

I unscrewed the casing and wow the amount of dust it had gathered just by being in a carrier bag tucked away, I only use when I work away & not used since last November. Would be easier to get a Henry vacuum up against the fan at the back and let the vacuum do it's magic. PlayStation works fine now.

When i play any game nd when the game is start so my screen pop up and in the bottom it shows black screen nd the game is pop up i play on half tv nd the half tv is black plz tell me any solution

It's because your disk tray is too high up put pressure onto the top of the tray with the disk in and lid closed and it will load up. If it stops when you remove pressure keep something heavy on it

this is maybe a BIOS corruption and it means that your device is pretty f..ked up
